A rich and flavourful fondue that combines smoked Gouda, Gruyère, and sharp cheddar with a hint of smoked paprika. Perfect for dipping bread, grilled vegetables, fresh fruits, and even a few pickles. Ideal for a cozy dinner or a fun gathering with friends!
Ingredients
Fondue:
2 cups smoked Gouda, shredded
1 cup Gruyère, shredded
1 cup sharp cheddar, shredded
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay work well)
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp smoked paprika
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
For Dipping:
Sliced baguette
Grilled asparagus
Grilled zucchini
Cherry tomatoes
Sliced bell peppers
Sliced mushrooms
Baby tomatoes
Slices apples
Sliced pears
Gherkin pickles
Cooked sausage slices
Instructions:
Prep the Cheese: In a medium bowl, toss all the shredded cheeses with the cornstarch until evenly coated. This will help thicken the fondue and keep it smooth.
Start the Base: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the wine, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Add the Cheese: Reduce the heat to low. Gradually add the cheese mixture, one handful at a time, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or whisk. Let each addition melt completely before adding more.
Season: Once the cheese is fully melted and smooth, stir in the smoked paprika and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Serve: Transfer the fondue to ceramic fondue pot a low heat. Serve immediately with your prepared dippers.
Astuce
Pour une fondue au fromage sans alcool, remplacez le vin par du jus de pomme naturel pressé à froid, du cidre sans alcool, ou un mélange vinaigre de cidre + eau + sucre. Le vin sans alcool reste également une option, bien qu'il puisse laisser un léger arrière-goût.
