The Nanaïmo Fondue

You'll see from the very first bite that its popularity is completely justified!

  • Ingredients

    For the chocolate fondue:

    375ml (1 1/2 cups) 35% cooking cream

    3 vanilla puddings, 99g each

    125ml (1 1/2 cups) sugar

    400g (approx. 1lb) 70% dark chocolate, chopped

    125ml (1/2 cup) unsweetened grated coconut

    For the toppings (as desired and to taste):

    Pink grapefruit

    Papaya

    Pitted cherries

    Peaches

    Carambola

    Butter crisp wafers (Jules Destrooper style)

    Almond biscotti

    Coconut macaroons

    Nanaimo cookies

    Lady's finger cookies

    Raspberry rolls

  • Preparation

    1. In a saucepan, combine the cream with the vanilla puddings and sugar. Heat over low-medium heat, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved.
    2. Add chocolate and heat over low-medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted.
    3. Add coconut and stir.
    4. Pour the required amount of chocolate fondue into the ceramic bowl of the fondue pan. Reserve the rest for fondue.

    A few tips

    In this recipe, we'd like to suggest a few more original fruits that will go particularly well with this sweet taste. To be quite honest, the classic strawberries, bananas, grapes and kiwis are just as much at home in this succulent preparation.
